Changes From the Last Model Year

The 2022 Outback has Subaru's latest technology and safety tools, including more standard advanced safety aids. The updated Outback also comes with Subaru's latest infotainment technology that includes an 11.6-inch touchscreen interface that is either standard or optional by trim level. The new Subaru Outback is the base trim with everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable ride in Cincinnati. The Outback has an eight-inch touchscreen. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard. Roof rails arrive on the base level, along with crossbars and tie-downs. The next trim has some interior upgrades, including heated front seats and a 10-way adjustable driver's seat. LED fog lights also come standard. The Limited brings leather upholstery to the lineup along with alloy wheels and a hands-free liftgate. The front passenger's seat is multi-way adjustable. Keyless entry and a push-button start come standard.

Nappa leather seats come with the Touring, which also has ventilated seating and a power moonroof. This trim contains a standard 11.6-inch touchscreen. The Onyx Edition XT has dual-function X Mode technology and black wheels. It also provides you with a more powerful engine for your Erlanger cruises. The Wilderness shares the stronger engine and has matte black wheels and a raised suspension system for superior ground clearance. The Wilderness has 9.5 inches of ground clearance and unique exterior design elements.

Exterior

The exterior of the new Subaru Outback in 2022 includes adaptive front headlights and LED fog lights on select trim levels. Roof rails with crossbars remain standard to make it easier to tow your adventure gear around Covington. The Outback has high fender arches, and ground clearance ranges from 8.7 inches to 9.5 inches.

Interior

The 2022 Subaru Outback holds five people with any trim level. There are more than a half dozen options for seating fabric and color. The Subaru Outback comes configured with cutting-edge technology this year that starts with an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen. Some trim levels of the Outback come standard with an 11.6-inch touchscreen instead. The larger touchscreen remains optional on select trim levels. The higher-end trims in the 2022 Outback family have Nappa leather seats and other premium details to enhance occupants' comfort and protect against the elements, including a heated steering wheel and heated seats. Climate-controlled seats that also ventilate arrive with some trim levels.

Engine

Two engines are available with the 2022 Outback. Most models get a 2.5-liter engine with four cylinders and a power output of 182 horsepower. The base engine creates 176 pound-feet in torque. Starting with the Onyx and above, the top trim levels have a more powerful engine capable of 260 horsepower for your drives through Fort Thomas. The top engine produces about 280 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, the Subaru SUV can tow 3,500 pounds.
