What's New for 2022?

There is one notable difference for the 2022 model year. Subaru has given Covington families one more choice when it comes to the trim lineup. The Onyx Edition serves as the new trim option, and it comes based on the Premium trim. It stands out in its own unique way, as it has black-out exterior accents and impressive 20-inch rims. Its other high-end features include a hands-free power liftgate and a heated steering wheel.

Trim Levels

There are five total trims for customers in the Erlanger region to consider. The base trim is called the Ascent, and the other trims arrive as the Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited, and Touring. Upgrades that you'll find in the Subaru Ascent Premium include heated front seats, Wi-Fi capability, and rear climate controls. The new Ascent Limited takes sophistication to a different level since it has heated first- and second-row seats and leather upholstery. With the Ascent Touring, you'll get captain's chairs in the second row, navigation, and a panoramic power moonroof.

Exterior Features

The new Subaru Ascent certainly looks durable. It can ride on 18- or 20-inch wheels and its raised roof rails can come in handy when transporting gear around Fort Thomas. One of the surprises about the Ascent is that it comes standard with LED steering responsive headlights. These headlights can actually turn as the vehicle turns, making it easier for you to see around bends and curves in the road. Automatic high beams play a similar role. Some of the trims come enhanced with LED fog lights and chrome or dark accents.

Interior Amenities

In an Ascent, you'll travel around Fort Mitchell in style. Cloth upholstery comes standard, with the higher trims having leather seats and ivory leather or wood grain accents throughout the cabin. The three rows of seating all have a good amount of legroom. Of course, you can lower the back two rows when you need more space for storage. Up front, the seats can heat, ventilate, and power adjust. The second- and third-row seats can recline to make your passengers more comfortable.

In recent years, Subaru pushed hard to integrate high-tech components into its vehicles. Ascent drivers benefit from having Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, HD Radio, and Sirius XM Satellite Radio. The entry-level trim has a 6.5-inch touchscreen, and all the others have 8.0-inch ones. With the larger touchscreen, navigation is available. Also available is a Harman Kardon Quantum Surround Sound audio system that'll provide you with 14 speakers and a 792-watt amplifier.

You'll have plenty of power when you drive a Subaru Ascent around Florence, KY. This new Subaru SUV runs on a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. The company put in a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission that makes the Ascent feel responsive. The base trim has a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds, but all the others can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

As you may already know, every new Ascent comes standard with symmetrical all-wheel drive. Plus, these vehicles have X-MODE, enhancing their grip even more when dealing with rough conditions. When you travel downhill, take advantage of the Hill Descent Control system. This program can limit your speed so that you can focus more of your efforts on steering.

Let our team at Joseph Subaru of Florence know if you'd like to check out a new or used Subaru Ascent in person. We can set you up with a test drive.
