To help you understand what makes the new Subaru Impreza lineup so special, we're going to compare it to the new Honda Civic lineup, giving you a side by side look at the many advantages that choosing a new Impreza model will provide you with.

Performance

  • The weather is always unpredictable around Cincinnati, and you want to be prepared for it. That's why choosing a Subaru Impreza is a beneficial option, as all Impreza models come equipped with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, providing you with optimal traction, handling, and control, regardless of the weather or terrain you're facing. The Honda Civic lineup is only available with front-wheel drive.
  • Both the Honda Civic and Subaru Impreza have a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. The Impreza offers slightly less horsepower than the Civic but provides more torque with 145 pounds-feet compared to 138 pounds-feet in the Civic.

Interior and Exterior Design

  • This year, the Subaru Impreza is only available as a hatchback model, providing you with 20.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats, with up to 56 cubic feet of available cargo space with the rear seats down. The Honda Civic offers 14.4 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk, and while there is a Civic Hatchback model available, it costs more than the Impreza.
  • Because all Impreza models are now hatchbacks, they all come with raised roof rails, allowing you to equip a roof rack and carry more cargo or equipment on your travels. The Civic doesn't have roof rails.
  • The Impreza lineup offers available LED steering responsive headlights that turn with the wheel, letting you see better when turning corners. The Civic doesn't have a comparable feature.

Technology Features

  • Both the Subaru Impreza and Honda Civic models come with a standard infotainment system on a 7-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. However, all other Impreza models but the Base model have an 11.6-inch touchscreen display, compared to a 9-inch touchscreen as the largest option in the Civic lineup.

Safety Features

  • All the new Subaru Impreza and Honda Civic models offer a range of standard safety features, including standard pre-collision braking and adaptive cruise control on every model. The Impreza, though, also has lane departure mitigation that will alert you if you're leaving a lane without your turn signal engaged and can automatically steer you back into your lane position. The Honda Civic has lane keeping assistance that engages any time you veer out of your lane and doesn't first alert you.
  • There're many available safety features offered throughout the lineup of both vehicles, but only the Impreza offers rear automatic braking that will apply the brakes if an imminent collision is detected. The Civic has rear cross-traffic alert, but it won't apply the brakes.
